The new Acer Maple productions have been taking beautiful shape over the spring – that’s why things have been a little quiet on the site.
Now a couple of rather important issues – expanding families and moving families – are taking precedence, so the final vocal and mixdown sessions for the new material will have to wait a few weeks. Some tasters will be posted soon. Suffice to say master drummer and bassist, Richard Spaven and Oli Hayhurst have been working their magic on the new cuts.
If you’re in London you can hear Acer Maple and Michelle Escoffery performing at their regular haunt, The Lauriston in Hackney on 13th July.
Many thanks to our friends at Music Is… for putting together this video of us and Michelle Escoffery performing on their radio show. It’s people like this who support grass roots music in London – just for the love of it! Check out their site for their radio show and live sessions.

The final acoustic show for this year features our great friend Michelle Escoffery. What a treat it promises to be with a host of new covers and of course Acer originals and some of Michelle’s fine material too.
Hope to see you down there..if you’ve not been before, skip lunch and enjoy a totally stand out pizza too – highly recommended and very reasonably priced.
Show kicks off from 7:30pm and is all done and dusted by 9:30(ish).
Our great fiend and musical collaborator of many years standing has a BIG forthcoming event that we would like to throw our full support behind…
If you’ve not come across Randolph’s incredible vocal talents before, then you should now. This gig is an opportunity to hear stunning tracks from his forthcoming album release Precious (which includes a delightful collaboration with Acer Maple, “Occupied”).
The event is called “Up Close with Randolph Matthews” and is “is an uplifting and liberating one-man show that courageously rejects the predictable boundaries of vocal expression. In an interactive performance, world jazz artist Randolph Matthews takes an audience on a magical journey through song and vocal gymnastic improvisation, using looped samples and storytelling, creating music inspired by the audience and space… the result: beautiful, sometimes witty and always enjoyable, unique music.”
Hope to see you down there next Thursday 27th October, 7.45 start till 9.30pm.
Tickets £12 in advance £14 (on the door)
1 pound of every ticket sold will go to the charity www.WARCHILD.org.uk

Had a top rehearsal with Michelle Escoffery yesterday in preparation for our show at the Lauriston this Sunday 9th October. Look out for a Lovers Rock Special with some roots flavoured covers (and classics including Police & Thieves). Do you recognise this….?

We are indebted to our great friend Paul Louis Archer for most of the band’s images. Here’s some shots from a recent shoot…
Our current single Welcome is from our debut album Early features the superb Michelle Escoffery and also features Richard Spaven on drums and Oli Hayhurst on double bass.
Pins and needles.
